Project Overview
- Location: Pleasant Grove, Utah
- Project: Complete roof replacement
- Scope: Multi-layer roofing removal, new wood roof decking, and a new TPO membrane system
- Contractor: Liberty Roofing Utah
Removing Several Layers of Old Roofing
The project began with a complete tear-off of several layers of existing roofing. Removing those materials exposed the original wood roof surface and made room for the new roofing assembly.
The tear-off photograph shows the crew clearing remaining debris from the exposed boards. This stage is an essential part of the project story: the replacement involved rebuilding from the decking up, rather than simply covering the old roofing.

Installing New Roof Decking
Next came new wood roof decking. The project photos show new panels across the roof as the crew prepared the surface for the next layers of the assembly.
A roofing membrane is only one part of a roof. The decking beneath it provides the base for the roofing assembly, making this work a substantial part of Scott’s complete replacement.

Preparing the Roof and Installing the TPO Membrane
With the decking in place, the crew prepared the roof for its new membrane. The installation photos show roofing underlayment boards, fasteners, and membrane material as work progressed.

TPO stands for thermoplastic polyolefin, a single-ply roofing material used on low-slope roofs. TPO sheets can be joined with heat-welded seams. For background on this type of system, see GAF’s TPO roofing resources.
The later project photos show the new white membrane across the roof and up the perimeter walls, along with tools and materials still present during the work.

A Roof Replacement Built on Trust
Scott is blind and shared that he had been taken advantage of previously. Finding a contractor he could trust was especially meaningful to him.
After this roof replacement, Scott was very happy to have found that trust with Liberty Roofing Utah. His experience is a reminder that a roofing project is also a relationship with the person who owns the property. Respect, honesty, and confidence in the contractor matter alongside the work itself.
The Result: A Complete Roofing Replacement
Scott’s Pleasant Grove project included all three major stages: removal of multiple layers of old roofing, installation of new decking, and a new TPO membrane roof. The photos document that progression from the exposed original roof surface to the new white membrane.
For property owners facing a similar project, the scope beneath the visible roof covering matters. Understanding what will be removed and what will be installed helps make the proposed work easier to evaluate.
